Job Description
Looking for a Mason/Brick Layer in Cumberland Rhode Island
Pay $25-30 an hour
Mason Responsibilities:
- Lay bricks, concrete blocks, stone, and other similar materials to construct or repair walls, foundations, arches, chimneys, and other structures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and layout.
- Prepare and lay mortar or other adhesives to bind the building materials.
- Cut and shape bricks and stones using hand and power tools.
- Align structures according to plans using levels, plumb bobs, and laser levels.
- Repair and maintain existing brickwork and masonry.
- Clean surfaces and remove excess mortar.
- Mix mortar, lay out patterns or foundations using lines and pegs.
- Always ensure worksite safety and cleanliness.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals and follow project timelines.
Mason Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Mason or Bricklayer.
- Knowledge of construction techniques and masonry tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform heavy lifting and manual labor.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Reliable transportation and punctuality.
- OSHA certification is a plus.
