Job Description

Looking for a Buyer for a truck equipment company in South Portland Maine. This person is also involved in warranty administration , issuing parts to jobs, managing and updating pricing and other related tasks. This role interacts with all departments in the company including Sales, Parts, Service, AP, Technicians and Management.

1-2 years supply chain management, buying, inventory, or purchasing experience

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Place Purchase Orders for all departments and sites
  • Obtain pricing, product availability, expedite orders
  • Warranty Administration - process and track supplier warranties (all sites)
  • Add and issue items to Service Jobs and Unit Order jobs
  • Process Supplier returns (Return PO)
  • Process returns to Stock (adjust inventory and jobs as necessary)
  • Work with AP to resolve supplier invoice discrepancies
  • Order stock items and supplies based on production needs, corporate needs and reorder report
  • Manage and update vendor price sheets, maintain parts “cost” prices in ERP system
  • Work with Parts Department to ensure inventory shelves and locations are well organized, labeled and accurate
  • Process material transfers between branches as needed
  • Provide exceptional customer service to Internal customers (Sales, Parts, Service, Technicians, Admin etc.)

  • Sees a need and brings it to the attention of their manager; Sees small needs (ex: replenishing items) and takes care of them; Strives to improve things like processes by making suggestions if they think there could be a better way
  • Easy to work with, approachable, good attitude, takes direction well from others
  • Flexible, can shift priorities as needed
